What is an antioxidant?
Antioxidants are molecules present in nature, specially in fruits. In the organism, antioxidant protects our cells from damage caused by oxidative stress, which is the responsible of aging and associated disseases. There exit two types of antioxidants:
-Low molecular weight antioxidants: like resveratrol that is present in wine.
-Enzymatic antioxidants: present naturally in the organism, they transform toxic molecules in inocuous substances.
How do I use the e-BQC?
e-BQC is an easy handling device. In order to measure follow this simple steps:
- Obtain your sample (biological sample, wine, beverages…) and turn on the device pressing the button.
- Insert the disponsable strip in the device and place a drop in the electrode. Make sure it covers the surface completely
- Click the button. The devive will show the resuls in the screen in a few seconds.
How does e-BQC work?
e-BQC is based in electrochemistry, the science that studies the reactions of oxidation and reduction of the molecules. By means of disposable e-BQCstrips, it perfoms a complete oxidation of every molecule present in the sample, therefore obtaining a precise and reliable measurement. e-BQC is able to differenciate different types of antioxidants, from the weakest ones to the strongest ones, that finally result in a value included in the e-BQC scale of antioxidant capacity.
Why is e-BQC unique?
e-BQC is the only device in the market that distinguish between different antioxidants present in the sample, by its importance.
In addition, the device shows different parameters that may be used by a medical or research professional.
